This is the Veil Nebula

The Veil Nebula is the expanding debris of a supernova explosion that happened about 8,000–10,000 years ago. It’s the remains of a massive star that exploded in the constellation Cygnus (The Swan).

It’s sometimes called The Cygnus Loop or Witch’s Broom Nebula. The thin, wispy filaments are shock waves from the explosion. The bright red/orange glow comes mostly from hydrogen gas. The blue/green glow is mainly from oxygen gas.

It’s about 2,400 light-years away. The whole structure spans roughly 110 light-years across.
