One of the biggest takeaways from my time in high school is that it’s okay to go slow, even though there’s such a thing as being too slow. However, taking your time and putting in the necessary effort usually leads to better results.

When I take my time, I feel less stressed and a lot better about myself and what I've done. This applies to my relationship with God, too. I’m not very good at slowing down, praying, and building relationships, but I’m working on it.

I’ve had a lot of mentors in my life, and they have had a big impact on me, but I'd say the front runners are my dad and Pastor David. Pastor Hannah is pretty cool too, but David and I are the dudes! David likes to use big words, which is something that I resonate with, because I like big words.

I have been really encouraged by leaders in my life, like my dad. We have conversations about deep topics all the time.  Pastor David and Tom Harvey, have also impacted my life, spending hours with me just handing out or having great conversations. That’s one of the ways they've impacted me. It encourages me to have those emotional and intellectual discussions with people I respect.

They have also helped me realize it doesn't matter what your career is; there are many ways you can speak God into people's lives.
