Karen is the personification of her name. She is a very caring person. She cares for the babies who are brought to CrossRoads, the volunteers who work under her supervision, and even has a job caring for the elderly in addition to her job as Nursery Coordinator. Her heart is sensitive to the elderly not being properly cared for and/or forgotten. She is doing her part to make sure that does not happen.
Karen lives a life of prayer and dependence on God. Many life situations have helped her develop these habits. She cites Joshua 22:65b “to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all of your heart and your soul,” and Proverbs 3:5-6 “trust the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding (especially when difficulties arise), acknowledge him in all your ways, and believe in His promise of directing your path” as the scripture that helps her stay focused.
